about

Five years ago, we recorded the second Larry Wish & His Guys album with friend/producer/engineer Steve Earnest in the basement of the Organ Haus. At the time, our live performances were often sloppy at best, but had a great intense energy that I think came from being very new at what we were doing in this group. We hadn’t ever really talked about what we were trying to do, or even what we were attempting to sound like. It was a very diarrhetic way to create. The cast of characters at this point was Aaron Baum on synth, Sam Cramer on bass, Kate Farstad on drums, Tim Hudson on guitar, and myself singing very poorly and sometimes taking over on drum or keys duties. For myself, it was a super bad time. I was struggling with a number of mental health issues that I refused to seek help with or even address, and I believe that some of the others were having a hard time dealing with their own minds and selves. This is something I was not sensitive to at all, as I was very wrapped up in myself. I would walk out on practices without saying a word, was a terrible communicator, and I am sure that I was unpleasant to work with at the very least. Shortly, after recording this album, both Aaron & Tim opted out of the group, very understandably. I ended up doing a very rushed job when I mixed this album, and released a sloppy, but accurately represented, version. Many of the vocals are too quiet and the bass is often stickin’ out like a sight for a sore stick-in-the-mud’s thumb. I’ve attempted to master the album myself in my first attempt at doing such a thing. The levels have been brought up via a limiter, EQ touch ups were used to bring clarity, and compression added sparingly to reinforce already present dynamics. I also altered the beginnings and ends of some songs with fades and trims. I even redid the artwork. This album finally feels like a done deal. It’s nice to finally say goodnight to this chapter of life, and I’m so lucky to still be able to work with these people and count them as friends. It makes me unbelievably happy to see so many people making such awesome art nearly everywhere I look. I want to be a part of it too! Take care of each other & keep being FANTASTIC. ~ Adam

Track Name: On One Condition
"I'm alive" is an understatement
Understand where I am
Don't forget that you're not alone out there
Don't forget not to care

I am aware
I just forget myself sometimes

Some go home with an empty thought machine (Fire)
Some forget it's not real
If you worry about existing
You've been human before

I am aware
I just forget myself sometimes
I'm just gonna give myself some time
I'm just gonna go on out and get myself some limes
Track Name: Above a View (Of View)
In my room, I own a pillow, where I make arrests
It's a shame, I wonder if this stain could cause a mess
Ah, outside, the spell is broke - I speak until I find out whom I was

I had a picture, but I can't prove it
Made of elastic, it wasn't lasting
Mother & baby, it was a windshield

Round & round, I run the circuit of my own caress
With my hands, I make amends and don't mention the rest of them
Ah, how now I understand that time is just the thing I haven't done

But I miss my picture
But I can't prove it
Made of elastic, it wasn't lasting
Mother & baby, went through a windshield

In my room, I own a pillow, where I make arrests
It's a shame, I wondered if this stain could cause a mess
Ah, outside, I underestimate amounts of all that's well & good

(Good)
Track Name: Abel & Cain/Stepdad
Abel & Cain, they're at it again
Fixing to kill a vessel in vain
But no one does die in the blink of an IV
The breakfast in bed has called for an ID
And when does one learn when school's out for summer
The winter has come to poison the plumber
With slices of lumber, again & again

In the morning, when the dawn is near
I branded every bovine
When they come home in the evening
They must leave so I can enjoy them

Abel & Cain, they're at it again
Fixing to kill a vessel in vain again
Winter has come to poison the plumber
With slices of lumber

(I'll only go with you if I have to
He's not a friend and he's not my dad
He's getting in the automobile)
Track Name: Christmas of a Town
I dehydrate contractions
A construction of the lung
It isn't easy making breakfast
When you have needs to burn
I've held my tongue amounts of time
And I've forgotten my lines again

I'm falling down the stairs tonight
Began the christmas of a town
We're stringing up the pilot lights tonight
The pilot lives to see his face

But why the occasion?
And where do the gifts go?
Now where do I put my congratulations friend?

They're on the big screen
Hanging up the sparkling lights
Looking bigger than before
Why don't they act their size?

I can see my congratulations friend

I dehydrate contractions
A construction of the lung
It isn't easy making breakfast
When you have needs to burn
I've held my tongue amounts of time
I stumble over my lines again

The rumor's out, the sun went down tonight
Explained the christmas of a town
This isn't all that it's cracked up to be
Thought the baby in his place

But where has the time gone
To bill the occasion?
Could this be my birthday?
And is this my only congratulations friend?

I dehydrate contractions
A construction of the lung
It isn't easy making breakfast
When you have needs to burn
I've held my tongue amounts of time
And I've forgotten my lines again

And I've forgotten my lines again
And I've forgotten my lines again
And I've forgotten my lines again
Track Name: HiFive
Murder me
Murder me please
I'm begging you on my knees
Will you please just murder me?

There's a town where secrets thrive & grow
And keep those secrets they do not know

There's a town where secrets thrive & grow
And keep those secrets they do not own

There's a town where secrets thrive & grow
And keep those secrets they can't control

That's the best kept secret
That's the best kept secret
That's the best kept secret
That's the best, best kept secret

Shout it out
Shout it out, Folks

Murder me
Me
Track Name: Chaptermin
Son, summon the finder
What enhancement have you spun?
Over my head, I spy an angel going to bed

An angel on the run
An angel, an umbrella does what once was

Don't get in water
There's food there
Swim, Chaptermin swung and made his choice to swam away

Hit home his lonely place
Heard one but couldn't hear the sum of what once was

Chaptermin swung, but he couldn't understand the ratio
His news was from the radio, the lady on the TV died

Now what kind of a man does that kind of a thing
To that kind of a lady on the screen to make a living?
He had a bad, bad dream that she wouldn't commit to his lifestyle
And he couldn't forgive her

I saw him running up the stairs
To tell his wife he had his clothes on

It's too late for our friend to get a job as a T-shirt guy
He's waiting for the bus because he's waiting for his hair to dry

Now when he gets downtown, he doesn't suck his thumb
He doesn't suck his fingers
And when he gets depressed, he does a magic trick
He does it on my mind

I saw him running down the stairs
His wife was giving him the business

How do I live in this body?
Where's the shoe store?
What's my size?

I visit the doctor like a loser
Cursed to win

A loser say he friend
A loser, life can wait for he
He, me
(Ya, he)
